David Russo Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 8, 2025.
David M Russo, 90, of St Petersburg, FL passed away peacefully early Wednesday, April 23, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born May 6, 1934 in Malden, MA and spent most of his early years in New England. He served in the US Navy and, upon his return, graduated from Boston College in 1960. His 45 years in the paper industry started at International Paper and ended at Norkol, Inc. One of his greatest pleasures in his professional career was sharing that industry with his son Mark. David enjoyed travel, golf, a good meal, and most importantly, his family.

David is survived by his loving wife, Pat Polonus; his children, Margaret (the late Robert) Walsh, Mark (Christine) Russo, Miriam (Randy) Urban, and Mary Beth (Roan) DelVero; and his two brothers, Joe (Kathy) Russo and Richard (Maureen) Russo. He was the proud grandfather to Morgan, Jennifer, Daniel, Jack, Danielle, Carlie, Anna, and the late Robby.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bartholomew and Gertrude Russo; his sisters, Miriam Reid and Virginia Girard; and his brother, Paul Russo. He will be welcomed by his late wife, Joyce Chasse Russo; and his grandson, Robby Walsh.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 27, at St James Catholic Church, 820 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL. Memorial gifts may be made to Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research in David's memory.
