1938-2016
Dennis Paul Foster, Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Nephew and Friend went to Glory peacefully at his home on Monday October 31, 2016.
He was born on January 6, 1938 in Borobridge Jamaica W.I. to the late Selvin and Lilla (Harrison) Foster. Dennis was a graduate of Clarendon College, and committed member of Clarendon College alumni.
In November 1958 he took as his spouse, Ina Tomlinson, a union that has lasted just 29 days short of their 58th wedding anniversary. This union produced two daughters Paula Foster and Cheryl Tapscott (Foster). Formerly employed by Sprostons Jamaica Ltd and T Geddes Grant Jamaica, he and his family migrated to Toronto Canada in 1970 where he was employed by American Express Corporation. In 1981, Dennis and family headed for warmer climates - Houston Texas where he worked with Browning Ferris/Waste Management until retiring in 2003.
While working full time Dennis and Ina created the renowned family operated restaurant Caribbean Cuisine, and served the community for 29 years. Dennis served as a Deacon and in other volunteer positions at Second Baptist Church.
Dennis leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife Ina, daughters Paula and Cheryl, Son in law Anthony, grandsons Joshua and Jordan, Brother Leonard, Sisters Ethney and Thelma, Uncles Trevor and Harry and Aunt Edna "'Nell", numerous Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
A visitation will be held Thursday, November 10, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, November 11, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Second Baptist Church Woodway Campus.

You were among the first friends we made here in Houston, Texas. I remember the days of you rolling out the patty dough in your kitchen; your laughter around the table with family and friends; the care you always showed for the Jamaican community and the love you had for your family. Heaven has gained an angel. Mr. Foster was a very nice man every time I spoke to him or interacted with him. To Paula, Cheryl, Josh, Jordan, Mrs. Ina and all of the family, my deepest condolences go out to all of you. I pray for strength.

Mom, Cher and I are alright, but you know this. Your friends and family have been amazingly supportive and thoughtful. Your angel Joshua misses you but knows you're no longer suffering. I told you privately, but publicly I want to Thank you. Thank You for showing me that Love is real. Thank you for showing me that generosity is free. Thank you for picking me up when i fell but made me clean my own knees. Thank you for stubborn strength. Thank you for my name. Thank you for holding my hand and also letting it go. Today was a busy military like Monday, but I had to put an all stop to my daily tasking once I received word that Mr. Foster is no longer with us. Mr.. Foster is one of the greatest man that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Not a day goes by that I am not thinking of him or one of his family members. I pray that you rest in peace Mr. Foster and thank you for making the world a better place with your presence. You will be missed, but never forgotten. Love you.

The Duhaney family had fond memories of Dennis ever since the Foster family moved to Houston. We were living in Beaumont at the time. We have since moved to Lafayette La. and presently making Houston home. During all this time Dennis and Ina have been close friends to us. We will certainly miss Dennis with his cheerful personality and genuine friendship.

Ina, a charming man; lived a blessed life, never to be forgotten by those he touched. His job was well done. He now rests eternally with a big smile on his face, and also on the faces of those who knew him, even though the tears are flowing.

when I think you were sitting a round the table talking in sept after visiting

Dear Ina, Paula, Cheryl and family,
We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of dear Dennis. Dennis had been such a great co-worker and dear friend of my Mom back in Jamaica. We were always happy to see him on his visits back to Toronto and only this past summer he seem to have come to say goodbye. We will all miss him. Take comfort knowing that he is resting peacefully in Heaven and rid of pain and suffering.

You called me on Monday 10-26-16 and left me a voice message. I called you back and we had a wonderful conversation. I can tell in your voice how happy you were as we talk about the family and remember stuff from work. I told you I was going to go see you, but sometimes we leave things for later, thinking we still have time. My heart feels heavy and can't help to cry when I think how much happier you could have been if I actually visit you. I'm so sorry I fell you Sir. Mr. D as we your close co-workers at BFI called you.
