Dennis Stark Obituary

Published by Woody Funeral Home Huguenot Chapel on Jan. 10, 2018.
STARK, Dennis C., passed away peacefully on January 7, 2018, surrounded by family in Midlothian, Virginia, at the age of 76. Dennis was born December 11, 1941 in Winona, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Eleanor; and son, David. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Diane; and three children, James (Katie) in Phoenix, Arizona, Laurie Morris (Daniel) in Raleigh, North Carolina and Andrew (girlfriend, Amanda Hightower) in Midlothian, Virginia. Denny's loving grandchildren include Nick, Ashley and Emily Stark and Lily and Eli Morris. Denny enjoyed a good story and a fun laugh followed by a beer or glass of wine with friends and family. He was a man of quick wit and unfailing generosity. Denny's welcoming spirit and dedication to his loved ones was always felt and present. He served in the U.S. Navy in the early 1960s, including service on the ship during the Cuban Blockade. He always remembered his U.S. Navy years fondly and was proud of his service. Denny was also proud of his long history as managing partner of Family Thrift Store in Richmond. His dedication to the store, his work and his employees was evident to all. The family will receive friends and loved ones on Friday, January 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Woody Funeral Home, Huguenot Chapel, in Midlothian, Virginia. Funeral services will be held at St. Matthias Episcopal Church, 11300 West Huguenot Road, Midlothian, Virginia, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2018. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project, the Leukemia Lymphoma Society or a charity of your choosing. Online condolences may be made at woodyfuneralhome.com.

Denny was a part of our parenting years as a wonderful husband and father to our daughter's best friend Laurie. I cannot think about those special years of raising our special daughters without thinking of the Stark's, Denny and all the loving support they gave to our family. When we think of Denny he will always be in our hearts.
