So sorry to hear about Dennis´s death, just heard on the day of the funeral. Would´ve loved to come to the funeral. Dennis was a very good friend. Condolences to all of his family.

I had the pleasure of working with Dennis in his farming operations during the summers of 1975 and 1976 while I was teaching at Barr Jr. High School in Grand Island. His mentoring inspired me to start farming on my own northwest of Pleasanton, NE, in 1977 on my grandfather's farm. Dennis was very supportive of my efforts in many ways and I learned a lot about farming from him even though I had grown up on a farm north of Riverdale, NE. My most emotional memory of Dennis happened after the June 3, 1980, tornado struck our home north of Fonner Park in Grand Island and my wife Marcia, toddler daughter Julie and I had to relocate to Kearney temporarily with my mother-in-law. Just as we were searching frantically for a place to live in GI until our home was repaired we had a phone call from Dennis offering us his 3rd floor apartment in GI for as long as we needed it. He refused to accept any payment from us; donate it to your favorite charity he said. What a relief that was for us! We lived in his apartment until late October of 1980 when our home repairs were completed. We were forever grateful for his generosity to us. I extend my condolences to Judy, Peggy and the rest of his family.

Sorry for your loss. Sounds like he had an active life. My condolences.
