I miss Don and I wish I kept up our friendship beyond college. Six months ago my youngest son died, and recently I scanned through my friends because I am ready for laughter and realized I have no funny friends and missed Don all the more. He could always make me laugh. Don, I hope you run into my son up there in the happiest place of all.

I remember my first time seeing him as a patient. He came out to the waiting room to get me and my jaw dropped. Here is this guy bleached blonde flat top hair with a ponytail, aloha shirt and sandals.
All I could stammer was "are you my doctor?".
He laughed and over several years changed my life for the better. Much better.
This guy with his little red sports car and wild shirts was the best doctor I had ever seen.
I literally had a dream about him last night and decided to look him up. I couldn't believe what I was reading.
Aloha Dr. Don. You changed so many lives and you were loved.

I was thinking of Dr. Don tonight and thought I’d look him up. I’m sad to see he’s passed away at such a young age. I met Dr. Don as a lunch patron while working at a local Ale House in Ocala. His pep for life and ease at spreading happiness was infectious. Strolling in with his tropical shirt and smiling ear to ear. He was always genuine in conversation. In my short time knowing him I lost a brother tragically. Dr. Don offered to see me as a patient for free because he knew of the pain I was going through and wanted to help. Even after I left Florida to travel back to Maine he’d still take my call for a chat and give me the guidance I needed at that time. I will be forever grateful to have met him. Fly high Dr. Don. Until we meet again my friend.

When we were in undergraduate chemistry majors, Don had his own laboratory making hash. We all sampled it and got so silly. He live near downtown DC we took a walk and got so silly playing in a water fountain. Glad we weren't arrested. I was so straight laced he always made it his job to loosen my laces. Thank you Don

It is hard for me to write about Dr Don in the past. His email, address and phone number are still in my contacts. When I see his name it makes me smile the same as he did so many times. Can't believe he is gone for real and not joking. I miss him and thank him for those smiles then and now. Aloha my friend.

My husband and I were just discussing Don and wondering what he was up to only to find out about his passing I knew him in undergraduate school, hung out a bit when he was in med school. Went to his first wedding. He was an outrageously funny guy. Psychiatry is perfect. Sorry to hear he is gone

I noticed recently that your office was empty, I thought perhaps you retired. I hadn't seen you in a while and I had no idea until now what happened. Very sad news indeed. Loved your colorful shirts and your jokes and your bright office. If possible I wish someone would let me know what happened. RIP Don.

I am so sad to hear of Dr. Sherry's passing. I worked with him at Lake Sumter Mental Health in the early 90's-the patients loved him! His guitar playing bed-side-manner was infectious-and he was a brilliant Psychiatrist. I was just wanting to see if he was taking referrals, when I read the sad news. I pray he is resting in peace, and peace for his family.
