Douglas Needham Obituary
Douglas E. "Doug" Needham, 52, of Pleasant Plains, passed away at his home on Tuesday evening, June 18, 2013.
Doug was born in Springfield, February 6, 1961, the son of Robert and Nancy Hamilton Needham. He married Susan Brooks in Springfield, February 14, 2004 and she survives.
He is also survived by his two daughters; Tamara Needham Carpenter and Chelsee Needham both of Springfield, his step-son Travis (wife Brea) Powell of New Berlin, IL, three grandchildren, his parents, Robert and Nancy Needham, his sister, Joyce (husband Rod) Porter of Springfield, three brothers; Steven (wife Christine) Needham of Wisconsin, Marty Needham of Springfield, and David Needham of Tennessee, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Doug was preceded in death by his step-son Staff Sgt. Joshua D. Powell and a grandson.
Doug was the owner/operator of the Angelo's Pizza in Springfield for several years. Prior to that, he worked for Goodman Fence Co. Doug was a Christian man who loved his family.
Services for Doug will be private. Those who wish may direct memorial contributions in his memory to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Gold Star Families of Central Illinois P.O. Box 5085 Springfield, IL 62705
Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch Funeral Home West 544-5424.

Bob and Nancy: I'm so sorry to read of Doug's passing. I never had the privilege of meeting him. I only knew Joyce, and my sumpathy extends to her and the rest of your family. I have so many good memories of both of you at Frist A/G and the "Young at Heart". I'm still young at heart, but my body tells me differently, as you two have experienced. Cindy sends her love, too. She just returned from Kenya on a mission trip through West Side Christian Church. Our prayers are with you. I know you are comforted by the fact he was a Christian! Love you...
