Edward V. McDonnell
Edward Vincent McDonnell, age 64, of New Haven, beloved son, brother, nephew and cousin passed away on February 10, 2023, at home. He was the son of the late Rosemary (née Egan) McDonnell and John B. McDonnell of Trumbull.
Ed grew up in Trumbull and graduated from Trumbull High School. Throughout life he approached the world from an artistic perspective and was passionately creative. He enjoyed creating beautiful gardens, arranging flowers, painting, drawing and ceramics. During the holidays (especially Christmas), he would go all out decorating his home. Ed always took pride in how he dressed and presented himself to others.
Ed had a thoughtful soul and will be missed and remembered by the many lives he touched. He is survived by his loving sister, Ann and her husband, Chas, as well as his Aunt Elizabeth Fitzgerald and many cousins and friends.
The family would like to extend special thanks to all the clinicians, medical staff, and caregivers for the wonderful care they gave him.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 31st at 11:00 am at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 395 Anton St., Bridgeport, CT 06606. Following the Mass, interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 1056 Daniels Farm Rd, Trumbull. Prior to the Mass, family and friends may visit Friday, March 31st from 9:00 am – 10:30 am at the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and 4 Gorham Place, Trumbull, CT 06611.
