Elizabeth M. "Liz" Albert

BANGOR AND WINTERPORT - Elizabeth M. Albert, 83, passed away on November 25, 2014, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born in Bangor on September 14, 1931, the daughter of the late Leander and Isabelle (Jollimore) Harnish.

Elizabeth attended Bangor schools and worked for many years at a local shoe factory before retiring. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting, knitting, beano, and snowmobiling. At one time she rode her own motorcycle. Liz will be long remembered for her love of animals. The dogs and cats she loved and cared for over the years brought her great comfort and her dedication to them was second to none. If you loved animals then you had a friend in Liz!

Elizabeth is survived by two sons, Ernest Albert, Jr., of Winterport and Richard Albert and his wife Jodi of Old Town; six grandchildren: Jeannie Crouse and her husband Brandon, Bobbie Albert, Ashley Albert, Brittany Albert, Hunter Albert and Olivia Albert; 4 great grandchildren: Traven, Morgan, Jewell, and Taylor; two sisters, Joyce Reynolds and her husband Earl of Enfield, CT and Patricia Lawrence of Bangor; three brothers: Hank Harnish and his wife Penny, Leslie Harnish and his wife Joanne, all of West Springfield, MA, and Daniel Harnish of Winterport; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, Ernest Albert, Sr.; four sisters: Anna Harnish, Lillian Barron, Jeannette Quimby, and Anita Watson; and four brothers, George, Henry, William, and Foster Harnish. Special thanks to the staff at Ross Manor for all their care and support for Elizabeth and to Beacon Hospice for their amazing care for her during the past several months of her life.

A graveside service will be held in the spring at Oak Hill Cemetery, Winterport.
