Elizabeth Ann Olson, age 83, a longtime resident of Wheaton, IL, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, December 19, 2019, peacefully at home. She was born September 10, 1936 in Chicago to Selmer and Evelyn Olson.
Elizabeth's Christian faith was central to her life. She attended the Moody Bible Institute and then began work at the Conservative Baptist Mission Society in Wheaton, where she worked for 45 years. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Wheaton. She loved music, going to concerts and singing hymns. She was also “a dog lover but never a dog owner!”
Although she went through a horrendous battle with cancer, she would always say "God is good, all the time."
She is survived by her siblings, Hazel (the late Earl) Anderson, Betty (John) Scharff and John G. (Alyce) Olson, thirteen nieces and nephews; Andy Anderson, Heidi Anderson, Carrie (Joe) Corcoran, Kim (Todd) Mauthe, Rick (Amy) Olson, Robin (Tony) Tufts, Julie (Chip) Ford, Sue (Andy) Lee, John (Jen) Scharff III, Josh Olson, Fred Olson, Jason (Tara) Olson and Mercury Olson, 23 grand-nieces and nephews and 3 great-grand nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her aunts, Betty Henk and Jean Grandt and uncle Robert Brooks Jr. and many cousins.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Richard (the late Janet) Olson and her dear friend, Harriett Simpson.
A visitation will be held on Friday, December 27, 2019 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Private interment will be held at Wheaton Cemetery in Wheaton, Illinois.
