I have many fond memories of Grandpa, that which stands out to me most of all is the way in which he would light up any time he would interact with my daughter Lucy. I am honored to have known him, to have learnt from him and to have been accepted as "the Brit" in the family that meant everything to him.

Its impossible for anybody to try to fill the shoes of my grandfather. Such intelligent, caring and fun spirit that brought great energy and enjoyment to all of our lives. He will be dearly missed by anybody that knew him well, espically to this family. The most important things I learn from my grandfather was that family's first no matter what, and how to enjoy the simple things that happen in your day to day life. I hope to live a long, full, and most importantly an enjoyable life like my grandfather did. Though he's gonna he will never be forgotten and he will be in our memories forever.

I first met dad 39 years ago when I came to the door to pick up his daughter. As I shook his hand he had a look of disappointment on his face.Over the years things began to change and that look became a smile. We came to realize we weren't so different. Both hard working, stubborn, demanding but sharing one purpose in life-to take care of our families. We talked during his last days about how he met mom and his navy days. I regret now not taking the time earlier to learn more about a great man who I will miss.

Whenever I smell oil paint I am transported back in time to springs when my grandfather would paint his boat. I have many memories of those times, and others, spending time with him. I'm eternally grateful of the opportunities he granted me and the values he helped to instill in me. He was the biggest fan of each of his grandchildren, and the feeling was mutual.

Grandpa was generous with his time, support and love. One of my favorite memories was him letting me sit on his lap and drive back to the house on Poplar Court from Dairy Queen...at the age of three!

My dad was the most loving and brilliant man. He taught us that family always comes first, and he lived by his words. Our family will never be the same without it' s leader. Love you forever. Cathy

My grandfather has given me some of the best memories I have as a child. He always knew how to spoil his grandchildren, and especially his great-grandchildren. He was an amazing man who has taught me so much about life. He will be truly missed but never forgotten. Love you forever!

I can't believe there is a better dad. My dad taught me so much and shaped me as an individual. He is a great loss for our family. I always tell people I feel so fortune to have had such a wonderful father. He is the most giving man I know. My dad was all about family and he will be in our families hearts forever. Love you dad.

My dad was the kindest, most loving man. He was a great father, a great man and such a great loss. He taught me about the truly important things in life - love and family. He will forever be in my heart. So proud to be the daughter of my hero. Breathe easy dad. Love always.
