Emily Latsko Obituary
Emily K Latsko, 84, of Warner Street, Plains Township, died Monday, May 16, 2011, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Shedlock Kunec. Emily was a graduate of Plains Memorial High School and Wyoming Seminary School of Business. She was formerly employed as a legal secretary until her retirement. Mrs. Latsko was a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Catherine Vasil and Helen Nalewajko; and brothers, Stephen, Michael, Joseph. Surviving are her husband, George P. Latsko; daughters, Judith Kunec and husband James, Cape May, N.J., and Sandra Hall and husband Ron, New Cumberland, Pa.; as well as numerous loving nieces and nephews. Services with Panachida will be held at 8:45 a.m. Friday at the Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S. Main St., Plains Township, with Divine Liturgy with Office of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, Wilkes-Barre. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Parastas Service will be at 7 p.m. Friday, with the Rev. James G. Hayer officiating. The family would like to thank the staff at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital and Riverstreet Manor for their loving care.
