Dear Henderson Family: I only just (February 2024) noticed your beloved father's obituary. I first met Ernest when he came to Shell International in London UK. I was at that time working in the Economics Division and I had the pleasure of briefing him and chatting and lunching together. We had a good relationship in part because my father was born in Karnataka. I of course met him again at the NEB where I worked from 1965 onwards. I remember him as a profoundly thoughtful man, always interested in others. Please accept my sincere but belated condolences. Roland Priddle

I was able to concentrate at many church services when my young son crawled under the seats in search of Ernie, who would always have pencils ready to entertain him. A very kind man.

I had the privilege of meeting Ernie on a few occasions at the Olde Forge where I volunteer. His love of life was evident. We had great little chats as we were getting ready for lunch. He was quick to tell me that he picked mango juice because it reminded him of his home country. I hope you are able to keep his memory close as you journey through this difficult time.
