Mrs. Esther A. Heller

Heller Esther A. Heller, age 95, of 3001 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, PA, formerly of 1039 Grandview Blvd., Lancaster, PA, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Brethren Village. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Carl and Gertrude Demmler Amsler and the wife of the late Hugh A. Heller, who died in 1990. Esther was a graduate of Carnegie Mellon College with a bachelor's of arts degree and received her master's degree from Eastman School of Music. She was an excellent pianist. She was the director of St. Peters' United Church of Christ Nursery School, in Lancaster, for over 20 years. She was an active member and supporter of St. Peters' United Church of Christ, and sang in the church choir for most of her adult life. Other memberships included the League of Women Voters, AAUW, YMCA, LAAEYC, Cliosophic Society, and the Art Class. Surviving are two daughters: Margaret Heller, widow of Gerry Copeland, of Cheney, WA and Sara H. Baldwin, wife of Oran, of Charleston, SC; and five grandchildren. Two brothers, David C. Amsler and Frederick D. Amsler, and a son, Christopher Heller, preceded Esther in death. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Esther's Life Celebration Memorial Service at St. Peter's United Church of Christ church, 816 Buchanan Ave., Lancaster, PA on Sunday December 8th at 3:00PM .
