Evelyn (Maniez) Beldo, 92, of Arvada, Colorado, formerly of Zeigler, passed away at 7:15 a.m. Friday, February 19, 2010 at the Exempla Colorado Lutheran Home in Arvada, Colorado. Evelyn was born October 27, 1917 in Coalton, Oklahoma to Pierre "Pete" and Catherine (Blond) Maniez. She married Floyd Mathieu, Sr. in 1934. He preceded her in death April of 1935. She married Werner Beldo November 6, 1937 in Benton, Illinois. He preceded her in death October 16, 1993. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Carol Griffith and her husband Gary of Thornton, CO, Lorraine Beldo of Fort Collins, CO, 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Floyd and Jung Sook Mathieu, Jr. of Gladstone, MO and Werner R. and Treasure Beldo of Kansas City, MO and a brother and sister-in-law, Fernand and Winifred Maniez; ten grandchildren, Lisa Renzelman and her husband Randall, Kearney, MO, Ronald Higgerson and his wife Julie, Kenneth Higgerson, Terry Beldo, Deborah Duncan and her husband Matthew all of Kansas City, MO; Brenda Watkins and her husband David of Smithville, MO; Robert Griffith and his wife Shelly of Thornton, CO, Cara Cansler and her husband Erik of Westminster, CO, Suzanne Dunlap and her husband James of Fort Collins, CO, Sara Smaling and her husband Christopher of Englewood, CO; 19 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Her parents; husband Werner Beldo and husband Floyd Mathieu, Sr., daughter, Kathryn (Beldo) Ebel, a sister, Carmen Bedar and brothers Pierre (Pete) Maniez, Raymond Maniez, August Maniez and George Maniez also preceded her in death. Mrs. Beldo was a member of the First Christian Church in Zeigler. Funeral services for Mrs. Beldo will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the First Christian Church in Zeigler with Brother Don Wright and Pastor Jason Mehaffy officiating. Burial will be at the Zeigler Cemetery. Visiting hours are from 6 to 9 p.m., Friday, February 26, 2010 at Vantrease Funeral Home in Zeigler. Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Beldo may be made to the First Christian Church, 110 W. Maryland St., Zeigler, IL 62999. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and the church.
