Filippo FAVIA Obituary

Published by Vancouver Sun and/or The Province on Apr. 9, 2011.

FAVIA, Filippo April 6, 2011 Filippo passed away on April 6, 2011. Pre-deceased by his wife Chiara of 50 years, he is survived by his son Joe (Marie) Favia; daughter Laura (Keith) Mah and his grandchildren Joseph, Gina, Julianna and Nicolas. He also leaves behind two sisters Maria and Laura in Carbonara di Bari, Italy where he was born in 1924. Filippo was a hard working man with a strong commitment to family and a love for his grandchildren. He retired from the BNR after 38 years of service and settled into a peaceful life of working in his garden and playing bocce; Filippo was a good man and we know he continues to rest in peace. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on his birthday at St. Joseph's Church at 140 Moody St., Port. Moody at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday April 12, 2011. Entombment will follow at Ocean View Burial Park Abbey Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
