It is with sad and heavy hearts that we share the peaceful passing of Frank MacCarthy, as he sees the light of glory, he will know that he has fought life's final war with pain, but comforted by his deep and abiding faith in His Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Frank leaves to mourn his devoted wife Valerie of 53 years; his daughter Maggie (husband Paul); his son Patrick (wife Haley); his son Martin (wife Margaret Ann); his loving grandchildren, Cody (Kira), Liam, Samantha (Kyle), Chelsea, Chase, Rhys, Brandon, Makayla, Cai, Christopher, Ellie, Griffin, Declan. "God Bless". Frank was predeceased by his father and mother, Michael and Margaret MacCarthy, and all his six siblings. Frank was born in Thurles Co. Tipperary, Ireland and came to Canada in 1964. A machinist by trade, he worked at Vancouver Shipyards. He enjoyed playing competitive rugby in his younger years and loved sports. Frank was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus where he enjoyed spending time with the people that became great friends throughout his many years. Frank especially cherished his long-time friendship with Harry (Sylvia) Zazelenchuk and all his dear friends. Please accept Frank's gratefulness to Sts. Joachim and Ann Parish, Father William Ashley, Deacon Larry Gormon, and all the parishioners. A special Thank you to Holmberg House Hospice and Abbotsford Hospital. Prayers will be said at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Sts. Joachim and Ann Parish, 2827 273 Street, Aldergrove, where a Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2017, Rev. William Ashley celebrant. Interment to follow at 2:30 p.m. at Gardens of Gethsemani, 15800 32 Avenue, Surrey, BC.
