Frederick Harry Carne, 77, passed away January 26, 2025, at the Bellamy Fields assisted living facility in Dover, NH, after living with Parkinson’s disease for several years. He was born in Salem, MA, 1947 and grew up in Lynn, MA. After graduating from Lynn English High School in 1965, he continued his education at Wentworth Institute and Fitchburg State College. Fred was a STEM teacher at Triton Regional School in Byfield, MA, for 30 years, 1976-2006. He is predeceased by his mother, Charlotte Poitras Carne, and his father Robert M. Carne. Fred leaves his wife of 51 years, Maureen Fay Carne, his sister Lucile Waehling, and her husband, Gunter Waehling of Lacey, WA; his brother William Carne and his wife, Dorene, of Lynnfield, MA; his brother Peter Carne and his wife, Tracy, of Southwick, MA, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Fred lived a full and happy life: husband, brother, friend, uncle, teacher, woodworker, musician, and mentor. Loving the outdoors, he and his wife Moe had many shared adventures traveling on skis, bicycles, boots, sailboats and kayaks to far off places. Always willing to share a story, he was loved for his wit, passion for all of his pursuits, his dear friends and family, and for his kind and gentle heart.
Fred’s wishes to be cremated were honored and the family will plan a celebration of life sometime in the Spring or Summer.
