As a senior cancer researcher in the UK who never knew Frederick but who appreciates that he was the man who really invented the first immunotoxin, we all owe him a debt of gratitude. I still work on the development of new generation immunotoxins as promising molecules for cancer treatment and believe that is important that we remember where they originated. I wish that I had met him in life but sadly never did. We will attempt to take his legacy to new heights by developing immunotoxins that are of direct benefit to mankind.

I was so touched by your song "Cat Lullaby," Dr. Moolten; and was saddened to learn of your passing. It is an honor to light this candle in your memory. You will not be forgotten. †

We will miss seeing Fred taking his morning strolls through the neighborhood. We are sorry for your loss.

Dr. Moolten will be greatly missed by the scientific community at the University of Pittsburgh. Without a research background I received my first NIH grant in 2006 and owe this to Dr. Moolten who provided excellent guidance and feedback when he reviewed grants. He was also kind and patient and we will miss his presence. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time
