NANI, Frederick P. "Fred" Passed away at his home in Santa Rosa, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s, on Friday, February 15, 2002. At his side was his beloved wife of 60 years, Rena C. Nani. He is the cherished father of two daughters, Barbara Marie Peterson and her husband Alvin R. and Kathryn A. Thompson and her husband Tim M., all of Santa Rosa. He also leaves behind his adored grandchildren Denise M. Jones and her husband Steven of Tennessee, Gina Stocker and her husband Greg of Santa Rosa, Janae Reed and her husband Blake of Redondo Beach, Dianna Lillard and her husband Jeff of Santa Rosa and Joel Dunbar of Santa Rosa. Loving great grandfather of five: Brookes, Caden, Elijah, Emily and Hannah. Dear brother of Elvira Zalunardo of Klamath Falls, OR, Lena Zanotto of Santa Rosa and Esther Hovden of Walnut Creek. Preceding him in death were his brother Joe and John Nani and his sisters Cristina Savio and Louise Bailo. In addition to being a member of St. Eugenes Cathedral, Fred also belonged to the ICF and Moose Lodge. He loved horses, riding them and even had a hand in raising one. For many years, prior to his illness Fred loved to garden, travel and dance especially with his wife. Born in Weed, CA and a resident of Sonoma County for 57 years, Fred was 88 years old. Friends are invited to attend a Rosary at St. Eugenes Cathedral on Monday, February 18, 2002 at 6:30 p.m. A private Catholic Liturgy Service will be held. Private interment Santa Rosa Memorial Park. The family would be honored if those wishing to make a donation would direct them to Catholic Charities, PO Box 4900, Santa Rosa, CA 95402 or Alzheimer’s Assoc., N. Bay Chapter, 4340 Redwood Hwy, Suite 23, San Rafael, CA 94903 or Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 2425 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95817. Arrangements under the cre of the DANIELS CHAPEL OF THE ROSES.
