Freida C. Rookstool

Freida C. Rookstool, age 82, of Carl Junction, Mo., passed away on Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, at St. John’s Regional Medical Center, following a short illness. Freida was born on Oct. 18, 1925, in Linn County, Kan., the daughter of the late Roy and Sadie Keitel. She has been a lifetime area resident. She worked as a cook for the Joplin R-8 School District and she worked for 15 years for the Public Water District No. 1 of Jasper County. She was also a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She married Samuel E. Rookstool on Jan 24, 1943, in Mound City, Kan. He preceded her in death on May 27, 2003. She was also preceded in death by one son, Donald Edward Rookstool; one daughter, Jocelyn Arlene Rookstool; one brother, Dean Keitel; and one sister, Wanda Stegeman. She is survived by one son, Leonard Rookstool and friend, Janeice Kelly, Carl Junction; three daughters, Ann Branham and husband, John, Aurora, Mo., Eunice Spainhower and husband, Dean, Baxter Springs, Kan., and Joyce Sill and husband, David, Webb City, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Rev. Johnnie Wilkins will officiate. Burial will be in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The pallbearers will be her grandsons. The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary. Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary and Chapel.
