Galen Johnson Obituary

Galen Chester Johnson, age 86 of Springville, passed away Monday, September 29, 2003. He was born September 8, 1917 in Provo, Utah to Lawrence and Alice Mae Harding Johnson. He married Bessie Juggert on February 11, 1972.


Galen was raised and received his education in Provo where he grew up on the family dairy farm. He worked on the family farm for many years and loved to tell stories to his grandchildren about the farm. He also worked construction and later worked for Geneva Steel for 25 years. Galen was a member of the LDS Church, where he served as Scout Leader and Home Teacher. He loved hunting, fishing and gardening and was very proud of his garden. He enjoyed spending time with his family at the cabin, especially on his birthday. Galen was a very loving grandpa and enjoyed all of his grandchildren.


He is survived by his wife, Bessie of Springville and children: Dianna (Kevin) Kezerian of Provo; Mike (Sherry) Juggert of Huntington; James (Nancy) Juggert of Orem; and Bill Juggert of Provo. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a sister Zola Snarr of Salt Lake City and his dog, Teeva. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Glade and Lowell Johnson, and son, Lonnie Juggert.


Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2003 at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South in Springville. There will be a viewing at the mortuary Wednesday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the Timpanogos Memorial Gardens in Orem.

Grandpa, we love and miss you so much. Our heart is broken that you are gone, we know though that you are in a much happier place and that you are living it up and smiling down on all of us and right in there with all of the jokes. You will always bring a smile to our face when we think of you.
