Garth GOODFIELD

We are saddened to announce the passing of Garth Goodfield on Sunday April 2, 2023, at the NHS-St. Catharines Site, a few months shy of his 80th birthday. He leaves behind Sharon, his devoted wife of 58 years. He was the proud father to Bob (Wendy) and Mark (Patti), cherished grandpa to Cody (Ashley), Bekah (Brad), Michaela (Derek), Jacob (Alisha) and Noah, loving step-grandpa to Lindsey and Allyssa, nurturing great grandpa to Griffin, Violet and Coraline. Garth will be lovingly remembered by his sister Georginne Trelford as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and his fur baby Teddy. Garth was born in Pelham and stayed in Niagara for most of his life. He worked at Stelco in the yard for over 30 years. His passions were welding and woodworking. He was known for helping out his neighbours, either at home in Niagara, in Florida where he and Sharon would spend their winters or at the cottage in Napanee. Garth enjoyed spending time with his family at the cottage and watching cowboy movies. He had a great sense of humour, and he was very giving of his time. He will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services. A private family celebration of Garth's life will be held at a later date.
