I came across this quote today and thought about daddy and me listening to John Prine.
"I guess I just process death differently than some folks. Realizing you're not going to see that person again is always the most difficult part about it. But that feeling settles, and then you are glad you had that person in your life, and then the happiness and the sadness get all swirled up inside you." - John Prine

I’m sorry to hear about Gary. With confidence I can say that the world is a better place because he lived - I know that I’m a better person because Gary lived. He impacted so many lives, and as always, the bigger the impact that one makes, the greater the void when they leave us. Shelia and Heather, please accept my condolences for big void that you are experiencing. You are in my prayers.

Gary was a good friend to Robert Mack and me when we needed help after the fire--we'll always remember his kindness, his way with a joke, and his stories. Sheila, our thoughts are with you; Heather, stay strong--you know you're in our thoughts, too. We've lost a very unique and much loved person.

We're so sorry to hear about Gary and shocked too because we didn't realize that he was sick. He was one fine and sweet person who never failed to speak to us whenever he saw us. We hope his family will find comfort knowing that Gary's fine now.
