I have known Gay for several years. We lived in the same ward in North Salt Lake for a few years where I was assigned to be a visiting teacher to Gay. Gay always welcomed our visits, and I enjoyed visiting with her. We even enjoyed having lunch together at Chuck-A-Rama a few times.
Eventually our ward boundaries changed so we were no longer in the same ward. Sometime later, I would pick Gay up to take her to sacrament meeting with me (my ward met at a better time for Gay at that time). Gay would call me occasionally to ask if I might be able to pick up her medical supplements in Bountiful and to deliver them to her. Even after she moved into SLC, I was able to enjoy lunch with her at Highland Cove once. I continued to receive calls from Gay to visit with her and to pick up her supplements and to deliver them to her at Highland Cove (even a couple of times during the pandemic when we would only see each other at the entryway).
When I discovered that Gay had moved from Highland Cove and that Gay's phone number was no longer functioning, I attempted unsuccessfully to be able to get in touch with her. I was sorry to receive word that Gay had passed away without my being able to chat with her once again.
I enjoyed and appreciated being able to watch the funeral service for Gay this morning online. What a sweet tribute to a sweet lady! I am grateful to have been able to have the privilege of developing a friendship with Gay and will look forward to being able to see her again after this life.
With love,

We loved to see your mom and dad (can't think of one without the other) at mom's & dad's, family parties & family reunions because your mom's smile was infectious and she had a laugh in her voice that made you happy and it brightened the whole room. Your mom always went out of her way to say hello and inquire about our family. I remember one night after a family bridal shower everyone decided to go toilet papering. I was probably the youngest one there and was afraid I wouldn't be included. Your mom took my hand and pulled me along. I cherish how special she made me feel. How sweet and loving she was.

My mother has always spoken so highly of her cousin Gay. She cherished her friendship and if she could I know she would want me to let her children know that she loved her so, and considered her a sister. Much love to your family. She was a lovely, kind and friendly person that always took interest in me when she would come to visit my mom.
