Oh my dear Gene, what a friend to all. One could never be around Gene and not feel safe and protected. Charlie respected and loved Gene so much! Gene was a big brother to him and learned so much from Gene over the years they worked together. I cannot picture Gene without a smile on his face and always a warm greeting. He has a special place in my memories. love him dearly, elaine kurka

Eleven years and can still feel your presence whenever I drive past your home or each time I see Fran. It's so crazy that you aren't just working in yor garage as always. You are just as loved as you were 11 years ago. Maybe you and Charlie are working on a project together right now and you are never without the right tools and equipment. love you! elaine

I want to give my deepest condolences to Uncle Gene's family. I felt as if he was my real Uncle. He helped me not only with his fixings. He helped me through the toughest time of losing my Dad. I will never forget the help he gave me getting through the toughest time of my life. I will miss him and will never forget him. A special place was made in my heart for him. Thanks for the LOVE my Uncle Gene

I remember first being Mr. Muller's paperboy; then his gas attendant at Charlie's Auto Repair...then when I bought my first house and needed help redoing the kitchen, I drove down Bayview Avenue and stopped by his house; he was in the garage working on something or other, which is where I figured I'd find him. Soon thereafter, he stopped by my house and rewired the kitchen and half the house for...$75.00. That's not an electrician, that's a genuinely nice guy. At that time, I had little money and he offered his help, basically for free. To his family, I'm so sorry for your loss.

Mr Muller was a unique character. A man that was always there when ever you needed him, especially to fix something, and always made you laugh. That smile will always live on forever.
He loved his family, fishing and of course the Mets. My sincere condolences to Mrs Muller, Sondra and Eric. And the rest of his family and close friends. And he had many. R.I.P.

Gene always made me feel special. He was sweet and impish at the same time. You could not help but to like him and feel a special closeness to him. He was like a very dear older brother and you always felt he had your back. My husband Charlie loved him as I did. If Charlie needed something electrical that wasn't in our basement, Gene would have it in his garage. I will never drive down Bayview Avenue in East Islip without thinking about Gene and smiling. I will miss you very much, Gene. with love, Elaine Schill Kurka
