Being a large building contractor in Saratoga country are Guyer Builders used a large inventory of Blounts products distributed through Curtis Lumber and Park Building Supply. My dad Dick Guyer and I got to meet George multiple times and was a super person and always wanting to do more business. Did not know George was close to my dad in Summerfield Fl. During both there retirements. Wish I has known as they were both so much alike. Business people from the generation are the most incredible people that built this country.

George Bloundt: There wouldn´t be enough room to tell all the memorable tales of how we had such good times together - especially at the NSDJA conventions. George always wanted that "really cold beer", even prior to breakfast on the hill in San Francisco that one memorable morning and many in the evenings. Then there was the time that Joe, one of Bloundt´s customers, brought him to his room late that night and lost him while talking to Shirley. Unnoticed to Joe, George had gone down on his hands and knees and crawled around Shirley into the room. Joe apologized for "losing" him. Then there was the time that we all were watching a comedian on stage only to scare the living daylights out of the performer when he opened the stage closet door only to find George sitting peacefully inside. On the golf course at one convention he managed to show us all how to drive three consecutive shots into the water adjacent to the hole. As I say, I could go on and on because there were many such fun times with George. Kath and I were blessed to be included in their family gatherings at various other events and at their cabin on the lake, which Shirley made reference to as the "Nonnery", primarily because of the thin walls therein. And then the business end of George when all the jokes were put aside as he became a good, honest and trustworthy business man. In looking back there is always memories that tell you how lucky we are to have had friends and business persons throughout out lives. George and his family are in Kath´s and my memories. Bless you, George. You will be a credit to your heavenly home.
