On the anniversary of George's passing, I just want to say how much he is missed. I would always see George at the YMCA in Bay Shore and in fact I first met George back when our children were in Preschool together there. I will always remember how George played Santa Claus for the Preschool Christmas parties and what a fabulous, warm, not scary Santa he was (with an Irish brogue as I recall.) In later years I also knew George through local sports and Cub Scouts and he always was smiling and upbeat. He made you feel like he was really glad to see you! I'm still a YMCA member and whenever I walk through those doors, I still think of him and miss his smiling face. I also miss seeing him in a bright green, or sometimes red, white and blue wind suit running down Montauk Highway. He was one of a kind and I send my love and many hugs to Linda and the rest of the family. I will keep you in my prayers that this anniversary will stir only happy memories of George for you all.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of my friend and former team mate on the Manhattan College Track & Field team. George and I ran many training miles together, where we discovered we both were interested in running the marathon. He got both of us entered in the 1971 Earth Day marathon in Central park. When I crossed the finish line, there was George, who already finished, with his camera to take my picture finishing my first marathon. That is the kind of guy George was, thinking of others, knowing how important that moment was for me. It was always a pleasure to meet up with him and his son at the Jasper track reunions. He will be greatly missed. My sincerest condolences to George's family.

I am saddened to learn of George's passing today. My thoughts and prayers go out to Linda and their children. George was a great familyman and friend to all that were lucky enough to know him. George was was always proud to show off his Irish heritage whenever he got the chance to do so. George will be missed by all that knew him.
George:
"May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sunshine warm upon your face.
May the rains fall upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of His hand."

George was a man among men....even though I went to Fordham he gave me a pass since I went to a Christian Brothers high school. It always brightened my day when I would see him at Brehon meetings. He was a devoted husband and father and will be sorely missed. St John de Baptist of LaSalle , pray for us!

George will be missed. He was awesome teammate, great friend but most of all just a super guy. George always had a smile on his face whenever we got together. He loved his family, a true Jasper and a Proud Irishman. George was so honored to enter Manhattan college Hall of Fame this year with his teammates. My love and prayers to his family. You will be miss buddy.
Your teammate forever
