ARMSTRONG _ Gerald Gordon "Gerry" June 6, 1941 - May 19, 2005 Gerry Armstrong passed away after a long and courageous battle with prostate cancer on May 19, 2005 at the Carewest: Sarcee Hospice. Gerry will be lovingly remembered by his wife and soulmate, Linda Armstrong (nee Lowe). Along with his three daughters, Lori her husband Shawn and two daughters, Ashley and Megan; Cheryl and her husband Darcy and two daughters, Brianne and Cassidy; Sandra and her son Matthew Gerald Gordon. Gerry was born in Hamiota, Manitoba, the youngest of ten children. In 1962 he joined the RCMP, regimental number 22513, and after training in the "C" Group, he was stationed in Vancouver where he met his wife Linda and married in 1964, the first day the Beatles came to Canada. Later in 1966 he joined the Security Service where he was stationed in Vancouver, Ottawa, Edmonton and finally Calgary. He was always proud to be a part of the RCMP and had a long and very interesting career with them. In 1981 he left the force and joined the Mannix Corporation, heading up Corporate Security. He was also an active Rotarian in the North Rotary Club, serving as president in 1993 and later receiving the "Paul Harris" award. Gerry was also a member of the 264 Legion. Upon retirement he worked part-time at Revy (Rona) to keep busy in a stress-free environment. Besides his career, he sat on the board of the Alzheimer's Club, coached baseball, curled, golfed and loved taking his grandchildren camping. As well, in 1994 Gerry and his wife Linda, purchased L.A. Hair Studio for his daughters to run, enabling them to stay home with their children. Over the past eleven years, the wonderful staff became family and a part of his heart. The family would like to thank all the Medical Staff at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, all the Staff with Home Care and at the Carewest: Sarcee Hospice. A Memorial Service will be held at FOSTER'S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 - 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen's Park Cemetery) on Friday, May 27, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the charity of the donor's choice. Dear Linda and Family:

My heartfelt sympathy on the loss of Gerry--he was always at the ready to help out with any and all matters of security at Loram and he paved the way for others to follow with systems that he initiated and put into action. Throughout his time at Loram I know how much his family meant to him and you must have been a great comfort to him during his illness. Hold the memories dear and time will heal the hurt. Sincerely, Ruth Jones
