Gerri became a big part of my life when I was only 3 years old. She was like a second mother and remained as such for the next 17+ years. She made me feel like such an important member of her family. Becky and I were the very best of friends (all little girls should be so fortunate) and Gerri always nurtured our relationship. I was treated like one of her own children, from having many meals with the family, sharing in dishes duty, staying over many, many nights. Even when there was no room and we had to sleep 3 in the bed, I was still invited. Memories of Gerri dressing me up to go out and play in the snow - got all dressed and my mom called me home. The first family vacation Gerri and Al went on and took me with them out to Mount Rushmore - Great time!!! Even ending up living in her home for awhile. There is not enough room to type all the great memories I have of Gerri, but I keep those memories in my heart. If she crossed your path, you were fortunate - if you look up the word 'giving' in the dictionary you'll see her picture. My deepest sympathy goes out to all the family - but especially to my very dear friend, Becky Jo, I gift wrap my thoughts with love.

Gerri was a fun person to talk to and had a great sense of humor and was missed when she moved from Saint Therese and it was always nice to see her when she came back for the bus rides and to visit her friends.

What a beautiful and bright light she was in life. Everytime we were with her we felt happiness, joy, warmth and kindness. We will miss her laughter and hearing her opinions on any topic we discussed. Gerri had an absolutely wonderful family who will keep her memory alive for generations. We feel privileged to have known her and she will always remain in our hearts and memories as well.
Our prayers are with Gerri and her family.

Linda (Porter) Meyer, Ripon CA. I enjoyed sharing breakfast and dinner, at the same table, when I visited my mom, Bonnie Porter, at Champlin Shores. She was so fun and such a good friend to my mom. We miss her already.
