MALMBERG GERALDINE J.
Geraldine Joyce Moyer Malmberg, age 89, longtime resident of Edgewood (Pittsburgh), Pennsylvania, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2015, at her residence in Anderson, South Carolina. Born in 1925 in Akron, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Geraldine Frutchey Moyer. She was a high school math and science teacher at Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf. She was Western Pennsylvania Coordinator for Amnesty International, and a member of the school board in Edgewood, PA . She was a member of Roberts Presbyterian Church in Anderson, SC, and of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Monroeville, PA, Calvary Lutheran Church in Wilkinsburg, PA and Trinity Lutheran Church in Greenville, PA. Her husband of 71 years, Paul R. Malmberg, passed away one week later, on March 1, 2015. She is survived by sons, Russell L. Malmberg (Donna Carney), Mark M. Malmberg (Caroline Lovell); daughters, Joyce P. Miller (David Miller) and Amy L. Forest (Donald Forest); nine grandchildren, Henry, Arlo, and Lillian Malmberg, Melanie, Luke, and Meg Miller, Jules, Paul and Cecil Forest; and sister, Patricia Mitchell. She was preceded in death by her son, Carl P. Malmberg; grandson, Brian Miller; and brother, Cecil G. Moyer, Jr. A Funeral Service for both Mr. and Mrs. Malmberg will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 25, 2015, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 4503 Old William Penn Hwy., Monroeville, PA 15146. Burial will follow in Homewood Cemetery, 1599 S. Dallas Hwy., Pittsburgh, PA 15217. Immediately following the Burial Service, a reception will be held at Grand View Golf Club, 1000 Clubhouse Drive in Braddock. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday, April 24, 2015, from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to Women's Wisdom Initiative womenswisdom initiative.org, or Amnesty International Pittsburgh, amnestypgh.org.
