To the family of Gilles Cote:

I was one of the many nurses at the RVH Dialysis Unit that had the awesome privilege of looking after Gilles Cote.

Gilles was a quite man, and one who you couldn't help but be drawn to. He was heroic and strong.

I wish to share with his children to tell them how much their Dad loved them. He spoke so beautifully of Samara and Gilles Jr., and when he shared, his eyes would light up.

He was so proud of them. When I asked him what kept him strong through the entire ordeal, he confidentially responded, " I have a lot to fight for" (meaning his children).

Samara and Gilles Jr, your Dad could have given up long ago, but instead he fought so hard to live for both of you. Your Dad fought not for himself, but for his children. You were both so special to him and he loved you very much.

May you have peace knowing your dad fought courageously and heroically right to the end.

In my deepest sympathy I say goodbye to an incredible fighter, a selfless man, a patient that has changed my life and my practice forever.

Sincerely Donna Trafford, BScN
