Gordon Anderson Hall, the Vancouver Fire Department truly was a better place because of you. You were kind, thoughtful, loud and always stirring the pot. There was never a dull moment when you were there and you were just plain fun to be around. You will be missed. Even my adult children were sad when they found out Santa had passed on.

Gord was a great firefighter with a wonderful sense of humour. We had a lot of laughs and great times at "Old No.1 Hall".

Uncle Gordie will be fondly remembered as an energetic, hard working person who along with his life partner, Aunt Helen, built a life serving others and building homes and apartments in Vancouver. I remember him arriving in Victoria as a member of the soccer or rugby team. Our family would go down to Macdonald Park to watch him play. There were the Vancouver visits when Uncle Gordie would take us all over Vancouver sharing his local knowledge. He was a good brother to my mother, Margaret, and he will be vividly remembered by my brother, Gordon, and myself as the "larger than life" uncle from Vancouver. Good-bye, Uncle Gord, you will continue to live in our memories.

I was very sad to hear of Gordy's passing. Our family share some great memories of him as Santa Claus (he was the best), thanks to Helen (what a wonderful lady). I will never forget how he "forced" me to drink those Margaritas in Mexico when Steve and I were on our honeymoon. I paid for that Gordy.
Until we meet again.....Cheers!

Gordie
We were all sad to hear that you had died and will miss your rude humour and huge generosity. We always enjoyed your stories about life in the Fire Brigade and were in awe of your knowledge of the streets and history of Vancouver.

Zoe and I cannot attend the memorial service, but Terry promised his Dad that he would always be with you, so he will be there to say goodbye from all of us.

Gordon and Helen were a great couple together and knew how to bring happiness into the lives of children through their Santa performances. Gord was a great Santa Claus. My sincere condolences go out to the entire family. I always enjoyed working with Gord, who was very dedicated in trying to make Vancouver safe from fire.

Our parents were friends and neighbours to Gordon and Helen Hall who once owned property next to us on the North Alouette River.
The Nelson family enjoyed Gordon's company very much and I'm sure he will be fondly remembered by many.
It is a coincidence that my mother's obituary is in this same
newspaper.

I learned so much from him and enjoyed working on his crews.
