CASTLEWOOD, Va. – Helen M. Duncan, 84, died Friday, May 29, 2009, in University Medical Center, Lebanon, Tenn.
She was born in St. Paul, Va., daughter of the late Elzie and Nannie Bell Cark Ramsey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Duncan; and one son, Larry Gene Ramsey. She was a member of the House of Lord Church in Castlewood.
She is survived by one daughter, Diana White and husband Elmer of Lebanon, Va.; one son, Terry Duncan of Old Hickory, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Joshua Philip Martin of Lebanon and Shena Martin Maxfield and husband Jeff of Lebanon; one great-granddaughter, Jayden Nicole Maxfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Helen M. Duncan will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2009, in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, with the Rev. Ted Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood.
Pallbearers will be Mike Campbell, Stewart Hancock, Keith Pruitt, Kelly Paul King, Jarrod Glass and Buddy Burns. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe White and Calvin Duty.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2009, in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood.
