Hugh Fraser Obituary
Age 68, on Thursday, June 19, 2008 after a courageous battle with a long illness. Beloved husband of 44 years to Elizabeth (Wilson) Fraser; loving father of Ruth Virginia (Jeffrey) Smith, Heather (Todd) Maio of Boston, MA and Thomas Fraser; grand father of Bradley Fraser; brother of Nancy (Richard) Walters of Webster, NY and David Fraser of Rochester, NY. Hugh graduated from East High School in Rochester, New York in 1957; the University of Rochester with a B.A. in English 1962 and a doctoral degree in education in 1971. He held several teaching and administrative positions in New York and Pennsylvania schools. He pursued his passion to serve the Lord through his connection with the West Lawn United Methodist Church. He was an avid reader, gardener and boater, Hugh had many varied interests and enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and dogs. Visitation will be held at ANTHONY FUNERAL HOME 1031 Ridge Road, Webster, New York 14580 (585) 872-6380 Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM where services will be held Tuesday at 2 PM. Family suggests memorial contributions to West Lawn United Methodist Church, 15 Penn and Woodside Aves., West Lawn, PA 19609. Arrangements by BEINHAUERS. 412-531-4000. Betsy and I met Hugh and Arvin at Sunday Nighters social group--Asbury Methodist church. We both knew quality when we saw it. Hugh was such a delightful person--a deep thinker and a great conversationalist. While we have not seen eachother in many years, due to our move West, we remember those beginning days of what became long and loving marriages. Love to Betsy and family as you honor Hugh's memory.
