In 1974, we built a house and moved in next door to Irving and Sarah. They were the kindest, most helpful neighbors we have ever had. To this day, I remember him and his advice when I plant my vegetable garden.

And we often think about when he and Sarah retired and moved to Florida - At his retirement party, he arrived in a "Ricky Ricardo" shirt. He was ready for Florida! What a sense of humor! They are both missed.

So sorry to read about Irving Kaplan's passing. I worked at the Pottsville Shirt and Pajama factory back in 1958 I was 18 years old then. I also knew his wife Sarah and his son worked there during the summer. My mother and sister also worked there. Irving would often ask me if there were anymore at my home like me. May he rest in peace.

My parents Walter & Lucy Seifert worked with Irving for many years at 12th Street and I am grateful for his management of the factory. May he be counted among the righteous.
