ISABEL BROWN Isabel J. "Liz" Brown, 80, of Las Vegas, passed away July 22, 2009. She was born April 4, 1929, in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada, and came to Las Vegas in 1960. Liz began working in the local insurance industry. She was highly regarded throughout the insurance circles and was soon hired by George L. Brown Insurance Agency, where she met her future husband, George "Bob" Brown. Liz and Bob had many, many friends, as evidenced by the numerous people that "dropped" by after five o'clock in the evening. Liz was always there to greet you with a smile at the door and a big hug. She mixed in many different social circles and she and Bob traveled extensively around the world. Her family would like to extend our deepest gratitude and thanks to Liz's many friends, both present and past. To those of you that knew Liz, you know that she is raising her glass right back to you! Liz loved living in Las Vegas and spending time with her daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Catherine Nelson of Sherbrooke, Quebec; and her husband, George L. "Bob" Brown. Liz is survived by her daughter, Torri Vila; son, Scot Noel; son-in-law, Terry Vila; daughter-in-law, Kelly Noel; grandchildren, Tera and Sammy Carranza, Max Maglione and Bret Noel; and great-grandchildren, Alexis, Caiden, Cruz and Jayde Carranza. Service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 26, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
