Ivy Templeton Obituary
She was the widow of Darrell C. Templeton, who retired from the Coast Guard. During their marriage Darrell and Ivy founded two Presbyterian churches, one in Mystic and one in Waterford.
Prior to her residence at Beechwood Nursing Home, Ivy lived for 55 years at 529 Mohegan Parkway, Quaker Hill.
Ivy was well know for her sewing talents. She taught sewing and tailoring in the New London adult education programs from 1945 to 1980, in addition to teaching sewing and quilting at the New London Senior Center for 31 years. Ivy was recently honored by the New London Seniors Association for her many years of volunteer service.
She is survived by her daughter, Irvane Spracklin of Mount Holly, N.J.; four grandsons, Darrell of Calif., Richard and Robert of N.J., and John of Australia; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral service and burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery are private. There are no calling hours.
Byles Memorial Home, 99 Huntington St., New London, is assisting with these arrangements.
Donations in memory of Ivy M Templeton may be made to the Crossroads Presbyterian Church, 70 Cross Road, Waterford CT 06385.
