FRYMAN, Jane Smucker 81, of Oxford, OH, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2018. Born May 26, 1937 in Akron, OH, she was the daughter to the late John K. Smucker and Florence E. (Black) Smucker. Jane graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School, played cello in high school, and in the summer played for the Akron University orchestra. While working as a visiting teacher and fourth grade teacher, she attended the University of Cincinnati in the masters of elementary education program. An active member of the Oxford League of Women Voters for more than forty years, she chaired several committees and served as president. I am so sorry to learn of Mrs. Fryman's passing. I will miss her welcoming smile and good nature. I remember Mrs. Fryman when she was one of our Campfire Girls leaderscamping and making shrinky dink ornaments. She was always there to lend a helping hand. Mrs. Fryman will be dearly missed. Sending condolences and hugs to the whole family especially Mr. Fryman and Katie.

I met Jane shortly after we moved to Oxford in 1971, when I joined The League of Women Voters. She was always so warm and welcoming to everyone. Her leadership in the League was a role model for us to follow. Our paths have crossed often over the years. After retiring from teaching, I found myself in many of the same Learning in Retirement classes with Jane. She was interested in a wide variety of subjects and was again a role model as a lifelong learner. Jane brightened every class with her friendly personality. We will really miss her.
