Jane Louise Grant (McDowell)
October 24, 1940 - January 28, 2024

Jane Louise Grant (McDowell), passed away peacefully with her loved ones by her side, January 28, 2024, at the age of 83. Born in Chicago, Illinois, on October 24, 1940, Jane's life was a splendid tapestry of love, laughter, and impeccable style.

Jane approached the fashion world with the same elegance she did throughout life, gracing the Chicago Apparel Center with her showroom and later charming the retail world as a manager at Bloomingdale's, Neiman Marcus, and Von Maur. She had a knack for weaving warmth into every sale and a flair for dressing life in nothing but the best.

Our Jane had endless energy. She was always on the go, whether at her weekly bridge games, charity work, opera, theater or concerts. Her love for travel took her on many an adventure, always providing a great story to tell.

Forever young at heart, Jane had a laugh that could light up a room and a spirit as bubbly as champagne. She was the consummate hostess who filled her beautiful home with love and laughter, much like her heart.

Jane's legacy is lovingly carried on by her daughter Jacque Watkins, her son-in-law Taylor Watkins, her adoring grandchildren Aaron & Annabelle Watkins, Mary & Ed Patterson and her cherished niece Margaret and nephews Christian and Quinn Smith. Preceding her in death were her loving husband Robert Grant, her brother Rex McDowell, and her parents Catherine and Rex McDowell Sr.

Services will be held at Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Church, 1775 Grove St, Glenview, IL 60025, on March 1, 2024, with visitation from 9:15 to 10:00 and mass from 10:00 to 11:00. Instead of flowers, please consider a donation in her name to Sr. Paulanne's Needy Family Fund at Our Lady Of Perpetual Help.

As we say goodbye to Jane, we remember the joy and color she brought to all our lives, proving that a life well lived is the most beautiful thing of all.
