Jane Holub Obituary
Francis Jane Black Holub, 96 passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Riddle Village. Jane was born in Mt. Vernon, Indiana on December 19, 1919 to George and Fanny Thomas Black. She is predeceased by her husband Edward Milo Holub. She is survived by her son Stephen Milo Holub, daughter in law Sally Dougherty Holub, granddaughter Jennifer Holub Green and great grandson Philip Milo Green.
Jane graduated from Purdue University in 1941 and received her Masters Degree in Education in 1964 from New Jersey State Teachers College. She taught elementary school in Warren, New Jersey, became the Director of Reading Education in Somerset County New Jersey and was Director of Title One Federal Aid for the State of New Jersey when she retired.
Jane lived most of her life in New Jersey. She retired to Ridgefield, Connecticut. In 1995 they moved to Riddle Village in Media, Pennsylvania to be close to family. She became very involved in the Riddle Village community running many events including the golf tournaments and scheduling the front desk volunteers up to her death.
For many years Jane supported the Rotary Club of Media’s annual auction donating many beautiful hand made items to raise funds for the club. She is a Paul Harris Fellow. Jane also gave much of her time to Elwyn Institute. She was recognized by Elwyn for her many contributions over the years.
She enjoyed many of her summers at Mashnee Village, Cape Cod and in later years at her vacation home on the Chesapeake Bay.
Jane was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and mother-in-law. She knew no strangers. Kind and considerate of so many and always willing to help wherever she could. She was a trail blazer for women way before opportunities opened up for women. Jane will be missed but never forgotten for all her contributions to so many.
Services: Family and friends may call from 1 PM to 2 PM on Thursday, August 4th at Riddle Village Town Hall. A memorial service will follow immediately at 2 PM. Valet parking will be provided.

Sorry to hear about YOUR/OUR loss...
From the 1st time that I met Jane she made my heart smile.
When she would laugh and still tried to speak at the same time started everyone else laughing....
The 1st time I met Jane I was serving her a drink at Riddle Lounge on my 1st day as the Bartender years ago...
Bourbon and Water and placed it on the table,,,
She called me back to the table and said is there a problem with your arm sonny...(she didn't know my name yet)
Can't you tilt your are a little further when your pouring...
From that day on we had a great relationship...

Dear Holub Family,
Jane will always have a place in my heart. As I read the passage you wrote about her, I am reminded of her passion, altruism, and kindness. She was a great friend to my mom and dad (as was Ed). There are so many memories to warm my heart. God bless all of you.

I am sad to hear of Jane's passing as she was one of the "lights", a courageous, giving, vibrant woman who will be very much missed at Riddle Village. It will not be the same without her. I will miss you when I go to visit my mom. Putting tournaments, the guest sign-in, the Lounge, etc, you did it all and more! Such a wonderful Spirit. Sincere Condolences to your family.
