SINCLAIR - Jeanne Chasse, 83, died peacefully March 22, 2009, surrounded by her family and friends at a Frenchville health facility. She fought a long battle with muscular dystrophy. She was born March 2, 1926, in New Canada, the daughter of Denis and Alvine (Morneault) Sylvain. Jeanne was loved by all for her easygoing, humorous personality. He favorite pastimes included shopping, gardening, going for rides, telling stories, knitting, playing bingo, getting company, singing, going to the Tastee Freeze and preparing meals for family gatherings. She is survived by her son, Norman Corbin and his wife, Katherine, of Palmer, Mass., and their children, Kimberly Ledger and Jason Corbin; one daughter, Carlene (Corbin) and her husband, Richard Martin, of St. David and their children, Denise Dionne, Sarah Helgesen and Shawn Martin; one son-in-law, Roger Levesque of Grand Isle, and his children, Wayne, Dale, Dawn and Jason; one brother, Albert "Leonard" Sylvain and his wife, Joan, of Fort Kent; and by many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, who she loved dearly. She was predeceased by her husband, Ronaldo; and one daughter, Gilda, after her long battle with cancer. She has been reunited with her 10 siblings, Annie Sanchez, Sister Annette, Irene Cyr, Helen, Evette Charette, Theresa, Edwin, Norman, Orelle and Joel. Jeanne's family expresses their gratitude to the staff of St. Joseph Nursing home for their generosity and love for the past seven years. We are all thankful for all of you who in one way or another went out of your way for our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday, March 26, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sinclair, with the Rev. Phil Cyr officiating. Dear Carlene & family: Our warmest sympathies go out to you at this difficult time. Your mom was such a kind and loving lady. Mom and the both of us loved her dearly. St. Joe's will never be the same without these two incredible ladies. Their meeting with our Lord must have been a joyous one. Hang on to that thought in the rough days to come. We will certainly treasure the fond memories of her and let's hope there are plenty of Werther's in heaven. Love you, Tee and Bea
