Jerry J. "Cody" Serino, 49, of Schuyler Street, Rome, died unexpectedly Sunday, October 20, 2013, at Rome Memorial Hospital. He was born October 11, 1964, in Rome, NY, the son of Peter P., Jr., and Thelma J. Short Serino. He graduated from RFA in 1983 and joined the Army Reserves. Jerry had worked at Remington Arms as a machinist until 2010. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Jerry enjoyed boxing, football and baseball. He was always there to give a helping hand to his friends. He is survived by his mother, Thelma; seven sisters, Paula Behr and her husband, Richard, South Carolina, Joan Serino, Rome, Carol Moore and her husband, Mark, Ilion, Gail Serino and her husband, Michael Hutchinson, Syracuse, Linda Serino, California, Joyce Younger and her husband, Reginald, California, and Ann Marie Shaw and her husband, Bruce, Florida; two brothers, Peter Serino, III, and his wife, Arlene, California, and Thomas Serino and his wife, Wendy, Maryland; his fiancee, Rhonda Pycior, Rome; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 5 p.m., Wednesday, at Prince-Boyd & Hyatt Home for Funerals, Inc., 210 W. Court St., Rome. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Home for Funerals Wednesday from 2 to 5 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
