My heart aches for you as words can't express the horror and sadness that you are experiencing but know that there are thousands praying for your strength and courage as you wander through the days ahead. I hope in the midst of your pain and grief you can push past that and remember Johnny's smile and the way that he adored all of you. Growing up at hockey I instantly think of ALL of you...and how YOU ALL--ALWAYS had smiles on your faces! Johnny was always clung to you Jane, he adored you, his mama--- but when you weren't there he was stuck like glue to his father and older brother, "being a guy--doing the guy thing," at the top riser gazing out at Mark on the ice.
I hope you know that from a young age he truly adored his family and he definetely portrayed that to you. Smile on and know he is still with you loving you as much now as he did then.
May God's grace and peace comfort you as you cherish all the memories of him. Unfortunately people come and go in our lives but nobody can take away our memories, those are engraved in our hearts and minds forever. My heart goes out to you.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.

That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,

But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,

I am sending this on behalf of John's friends at culinary school. It's pretty hard to get your mind around going to a funeral for a 25 year old friend. We wish this was different. We wanted to let you know what fun we had cooking with John. Because he was both serious about cooking as well as quick with a good joke, he was someone you were glad to be with every day. We're so grateful for the opportunity to have cooked with him 5 days a week. John mattered. There will be a great void in our class. We're thinking of you. We love John and we love you.
