John Raab Obituary
1934 - 2018
John Otto Raab, age 84, of Gahanna, Ohio, passed away on November 5, 2018, he was born on April 2, 1934 in Neptune, NJ, to the late John and Ilsa Raab. John attended Rutgers University where he earned a Bachelor's of Geology in 1957. During his time there he became the president of Alpha Sigma Phi. Following college, John served in the United States Airforce and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. Most notably he was a navigator on the Tanker Aircraft KC-135 Stratotanker. He also he was employed as Computer Specialist at DSC where he retired in 1989. He served as a Liaison Officer for the Air Force Academy from 1974-2001. A Proud member of the Air Force Assoc., Reserve Officers Assoc., National Assoc. of Retired Federal Employees, American Legion Post #0797, and Kiwanis of Gahanna. Survived by his wife of 25 years, Karen Raab; daughter, Karen (Brian) Johnson; son, John (Shannon) Raab Jr; grandchildren, Benjamin (Christi), Nathan, and Aaron (Megan) Johnson, Justin, Jeffery, and Ryan Raab, Abbey (Daniel) Peralta; three great-grandchildren; brother, Tom (Patty) Raab; nieces and nephews, Annie, Tommy (Amy), and Jimmy (Trista) Raab; step-children, Kelly (Joseph) Hollenack, John Henry Gordon; step-grandchildren, David and Anna Hollenack, David, Joseph, Jessica, and Emily Gordon; and a host of loving relatives and friends. Family will receive friends on Friday, November 9, 2018 from 4-7pm at the Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, where a service will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 11am. Interment will be at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kiwanis of Gahanna, 480 Rocky Fork Dr., Gahanna, Ohio 43230. To share memories and leave condolences, visit, www.schoedinger.com.

Mr Raab was the most wonderful loving generous man to his family friends and all who came in contact with him. He always saw the good in people and made everyone feel so welcomed. He will truly be missed and loved forever.
