I think of Jay often when talking on the phone to some of the guys we worked with back then. Jay and I were both supervisors when the boys went out on strike in 1995. We just about lived together night and day for those four months. I guess you could say we got to know each other pretty well. I hope the family are all doing well.

Jay will never be forgotten. I worked many storms and I learned so much from him. I looked forward in talking to him at the end of the day. He always took pride in bending over and touching his toes,, I still can't. Rest in peace my friend.

Jay as we called him at WEMCO was one of the kindest and gentlest people I ever met. Always the teacher and coach when it came to line work or anything else.
So sad that such a man’s retirement was cut short!
The saying above his desk always stays with me.
I had the blues because I had no shoes
Till upon the street I met a man who had no feet!
