Dear Pam, Jack, Kevin, Steve and families,
I just heard the so sad news about John. I am so sorry for your loss of this great man.
As I read the condolences, I was not surprised by what an amazing man he had become. Most of my contact with the Trinward "kids" was when I was one myself. Aside from weekends when our families got together, I spent one week every Summer visiting Nancy and, coming from a family with 3 girls, I loved having John and Kevin as my surrogate brothers. These are very fond memories.
Over the years, I was able to hear of the happy events and accomplishments of the kids and grandkids through Jack and Margaret. Their stories were filled with enthusiasm, joy, admiration and love.
My heart goes out to all of you at this sad time. With love, Colleen Quinn Desmarais

Dear Pam,the Trinward & Jabar families,
Just found the sad news of John's passing on my computer. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this very sad time. John was an exceptional person as indicated in his obituary. He was very much like his mother (Miss Greenleaf), when she taught in the Bucksport High school.
I always enjoyed working and dealing with John at the S.D. Warren Somerset Plant as we solved problems together. I always knew I could trust him. I hadn't seen him since soon after I retired, but just last month he came to mind, and I wondered how he and his family were doing. I am so sorry for your loss.

This is such sad and devastating news...a tremendous loss to family, friends, community and the world at large.
John Trinward was one of those rare unforgettable people. I don't know when I last interacted with him directly, and yet I can see his joyful smiling face in my mind as I type this, as though he was standing tall in front of me right now.
I loved and respected the way he loved his wife like there was no other woman in the world.
I loved and respected the way he loved and took pride in his children as though they were perfection personified, and growing more wonderful with every passing day.
I loved and respected the way he walked in the world - as though there was nothing but joy before him, and no way to be but happy and grateful.
The last time I talked with John, he came to place a sign on my front lawn - a sign bearing the name of his wife who was running for a state office. I told him that I was proud to have the sign on my property and honored to know his wife. He responded without a second's hesitation, "Thank you! I appreciate that. No one is more honored to know her than I am."
John and Pam Trinward are a piece of Waterville royalty to me. Why? Because their lives here have been in service to the community and the state, and they have consistently worked to improve life for all of us in one way or another.
I deeply grieve the loss of this great man from the world, and I hold the greatest sympathy in my heart for his wife, his children, his father, siblings, family-in-law and friends.
The world has lost a very bright light, but the Heavens are brighter than ever.

Dear Pam and Family, I am so sorry to learn of John's passing. Although our paths have not crossed in recent years, I think of you often and have such fond memories of Pam and John's kindness at UMO, Sugarloaf and John's fun-loving fraternity brothers of Beta Theta Pi, including their sweet serenade to Pam - "My Beta Sweetheart" - upon Pam and John's engagement so many years ago. Pam, JT, Kati, Misty, and Andrea, I write this with a heavy heart. The kids and I have laughed and cried alot over the last few days reminiscing about Uncle John aka "lumpy." From the ghost stories he told when camping to leading the kids in Christmas Carols at the Christmas Luncheon to famous lumpy quotes! That wonderful smile, twinkle in his eye, enthusiasm and energy were always infectious! Life is a beautiful thing and he truly lived it to the fullest! He set a wonderful example for all of us to learn from. Our hearts just ache for all of you. All our love, Debbie, JJ, Kalen and Kevin
