Jose D. Santiago

YORK Jose D. "Little Joe" Santiago, 73, died, Sunday, November 6, 2011, at his residence. He was the husband of Carol M. (Armold) Santiago, to whom he was married 17 years. Born on July 9, 1938, in Villalba, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Angelina Santiago. Mr. Santiago retired from Harley Davidson. Mr. Santiago was a member of Eagle Christian Ministries, where he served on the board and mission board. He was very active in his community. He enjoyed his grandchildren and loved baseball. He also was a Deputy Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Angelia Sellers and her husband, Brian, and Melissa Santiago and fiance, Mark Santiago; a stepdaughter, Colette Markel and her husband, Darby; a stepson, Christopher Wilson; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and a sister, Angelina Vazques (Guzman) of Juncos, Puerto Rico. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 pm Thursday at the John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 2114 W. Market St., York. A second viewing will be held on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Eagle Christian Ministries, 225 E. Springettsbury Ave., York, followed by an 11 a.m. bilingual service at the church.
