Joyce F Hopper

San Antonio - Joyce F Hopper, 84, of San Antonio, went to our Lord and Savior on December 1, 2023. Joyce was born in San Antonio to Wallace and Nell Holder on December 16, 1938. She went to school in San Antonio and Corpus Christi. Joyce Hopper is preceded in death by her parents Wallace and Nell Holder, Sister Nellie Jean Brown and Brother Glen Holder. Joyce is survived by her husband Thomas A. Hopper, children Thomas Jr and Charles Hopper: Grandchildren Samantha, Carolina, and Cash. She married Thomas A. Hopper on November 25, 1961, in Corpus Christi. She graduated from University of Corpus Christi with a bachelor's degree in Education, and also Graduated from Our Lady University with a Masters in Guidance and Counseling. Shortly after she became a Certified Professional counselor by The State of Texas.

Joyce taught 5 years at John Marshall High School, was a Counselor for 25 years at E. M. Pease Middle School and 14 years as The Chief Examiner of NISD's GED program. The Texas State office of the GED program Recognized her as The GED Chief Examiner of the year in 1998. Joyce loved to Bake, collect Belleek China, Traveling, and Painting. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma.

Visitation will be at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home 6321 Bandera Rd, San Antonio, TX 78238, On December 20, 2023 between 7 and 9 pm.

Funeral services will be held on December 21, 2023 at 10 a.m. Sunset Memorial Funeral Home 6321 Bandera Rd, San Antonio, TX 78238, with Cheryl Broom of Helotes Hills United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Arrangements are by Sunset Memorial Park & Funeral Home.
