I had the good fortune to have know Mr. Marcus through being a neighbour and having worked with him at Canac Kitchens (my first job upon graduating from university).
He was a larger than life figure. Full of passion for life and expecting no more from others than he expected from himself, he was tireless, driven and devoted to his work but more importantly to his family. He had character and no time spent with him was boring and it was always educational. If you were prepared to work, he would give you as much of his time as you needed. An inspiration on how to lead a full life, that is how I will remember Mr. Marcus. My deepest condolences to Mrs. Marcus and to David and Jean. You have lost a husband and father, and we have lost a person of true character. He will be missed but not forgotten. Rest in Peace Mr. Marcus.

We remember Karl for his friendship and generosity. We were fortunate to share his humor and kindness whether it was in Ottawa, Toronto or in the Bahamas. Our deepest sympathies extend to Carol Jean, Jean and David and to their families.
