Kathleen WAITT Obituary

Published by Vancouver Sun and/or The Province from Dec. 7 to Dec. 8, 2012.
WAITT, Kathleen Elizabeth "Kay" Crossen
(nee Whyddon)
Age 98. Born: December 31, 1913; passed away December 2, 2012 peacefully in her home of 67 years in West Vancouver. Kay was predeceased by her first child Elizabeth (Betsy), her first husband James (Jimmy) Crossen, second husband Tom Waitt, and her three sisters, Ellie, Aud, and Nam. Survived by four of her children: Amy Stevens (Ross), Nancy Crossen (Al), Ted Crossen and John Crossen, six grandchildren, six great- grandchildren, nine stepchildren and many step- grandchildren. Kay's sense of humour, love of music, feisty nature, eternal optimism, positive energy, compassion, vigor and flair were recognized by all who met her. Her legacy will be the lessons learned from her countless examples of kindness, giving and how she lived an exemplary, selfless life. She was affectionately referred to as "Miss Kay", by her devoted live-in caregivers, Roel and Reggie, (who made every day joyous for her, no matter what the circumstances) and many of the home care helpers from N.S. Coastal Health, who were all amazingly kind. Kay was always extremely grateful to all who cared for her right to the end. Close friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of her life on Sunday December 9th at 1:00 p.m. at the family home.
